Overview
Program Overview
Coulee Region Sled Hockey (CRSH) is dedicated to providing individuals with physical and neurological challenges the opportunity to participate in sled hockey, a Paralympic sport adapted for recreation and competition. Our program welcomes youth and adults ages 6 to 60, including veterans and able-bodied participants, in a co-ed, supportive environment. We offer year-round programming with regular sessions held Mondays and Saturdays at the Green Island Ice Arena, beginning in October.
Sled hockey uses adaptive sleds and two modified hockey sticks—one end with picks for propulsion and the other end for passing and shooting. The rules mirror traditional hockey, and “pusher assistance” is available for those unable to propel themselves. All equipment, ice time, and fun are provided free of charge, ensuring no individual is declined for financial reasons.
CRSH aims to foster comradery, sportsmanship, leadership, confidence, healthy lifestyles, friendship, and enjoyment. Participants are encouraged to develop skills and life lessons applicable to future employment and active citizenship. FREE and n.a.s.a. provides the equipment, ice time and fun!
