Go Where the Trail Takes You
For many individuals with mobility challenges, rough terrain, wooded trails, hunting properties, beaches, and outdoor recreation areas can become difficult—or even impossible—to access.
The n.a.s.a. Track Chair Program helps remove those barriers by providing access to all-terrain powered track chairs designed to travel where traditional wheelchairs cannot.
Whether it’s exploring a woodland trail, fishing along a riverbank, hunting with friends, attending an outdoor event, or simply enjoying nature, track chairs help restore freedom, independence, and outdoor adventure.
What is a Track Chair?
Track chairs are specialized all-terrain mobility devices designed to navigate:
🌲 Forest trails
🏕️ Campgrounds
🦌 Hunting properties
🏞️ Parks and nature areas
🏖️ Sand and uneven terrain
❄️ Snow and challenging conditions
Their tracked design allows users to travel across terrain that would otherwise be inaccessible with conventional mobility devices.
More Than Mobility
A track chair isn’t just transportation.
For many participants, it means:
- Returning to favorite outdoor activities
- Reconnecting with family traditions
- Exploring places they thought they had lost access to
- Hunting, fishing, and camping again
- Experiencing greater independence
- Building confidence and creating memories
The impact goes far beyond the trail.
Flexible Use Opportunities

Track chairs help make those experiences possible again.
Because everyone deserves access to the outdoors.
