Program Overview

The Adaptive Water Skiing Program is designed to provide youth and adults with physical and/or cognitive challenges the opportunity to enjoy water skiing in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. In collaboration with the River City Waterski Show Team, our program utilizes specialized sit-skis, adaptive equipment, and trained staff to accommodate participants of varying heights, sizes, and ability levels. Skiers may choose to ski with the assistance of side skiers or independently using “outriggers” attached to the sit-ski. For those able, stand-up skiing is also available with the use of a boom or a specially designed triple-edge-bar.

The program hosts two clinics each summer, typically in June and August, where participants can experience the thrill and joy of water skiing. The positive impact is evident in the smiles and enthusiastic responses from those who take part. To learn about upcoming clinic dates, individuals are encouraged to visit Facebook and search for “Adaptive Water Skiing with River City,” or contact the program coordinator via email.

We are grateful to our partner, the River City Waterski Show Team, for their ongoing support and dedication to making adaptive water skiing accessible to all.
